MONROE — A future Wendy’s fast-food restaurant to be built in the Fred Meyer parking lot fronting U.S. 2 was still on track as of December. City planners have approved the Wendy’s final site plan, a key step before construction.

MONROE -- State Route 522 is blocked well before entering Monroe. It was a high-speed head-on collision between two cars east of Fales Road and west of the Snohomish River bridge on the highway, Snohomish Regional Fire and Rescue spokesman Peter Mongillo said.
