SNOHOMISH — The school board last week approved increasing meal prices 25 cents across the board for next year.
At the middle schools and high schools, a school lunch will cost $3.75 come Sept. 1; a breakfast, $2.25. At elementaries, $3.50 for lunch and $2 for breakfasts.
Students who can get reduced and free lunch programs will continue to pay zero.
It was to keep up with costs instead of having a higher jump later, the board was told. Snohomish Schools hasn’t increased meal prices in three years.
The district will be paying its food service contractor Chartwells $4.61 per meal in 2025-26. State and federal programs help cover the costs.
