There was joy in “Bearcat-ville” April 29. Trailing by two in the seventh inning with base runners at second and third, Bearcat Junior Vivian Knuckey slugged a line-drive shot to deep center field to bring both home for a walk-off win of 6-5. Everett had controlled the game with strong pitching and big bats. In early innings the Seagulls soared with two over-the-fence homers, the first from Mia Hoekendorf and later by Alyssa Iverson. Iverson was met at home plate by her teammates with chants of, ”She’s a Freshman! She’s a Freshman!” Above, the Everett Seagulls’ catcher tags Monroe Bearcat junior Elle Rice at home plate.
