To the Editor:
It’s always inspirational to read about teams of people of all ages making an effort to raise money for a good cause, in this case the Panther Run running for scholarships, which raised more than $5,000 (story in June 25 Tribune).
Seems these days we the people are called on to do more to balance all of the recent government cuts. This is a good example of people taking action. Of course there are other ways, including standing up against the cuts, like people at 2nd Street and Avenue D have been doing. We can also call or email those who represent us and ask them to keep working to turn around these laws and executive actions that threaten health care and food programs in our country as well as life-saving programs globally. I can’t run like my grandson did, but I can communicate with those who represent me in Congress. Let’s be inspired by those who ran and take action to create a better country and world.
