Returning home last week from a successful road trip to Eugene, where they won four of six over the Emeralds, the Sox began a six-game home stand with Tri-City. With the opening game of the series rained out on Tuesday, May 21, the series opened on Wednesday with the Sox beating the Dust Devils 7-0. Everett’s Freuddy Batista hit his second home run of the season in the game. Results of the remaining games were played after an early press time. As of Thursday, May 23, the Sox were 18-21 on the season and were sitting in fourth place in the Northwest League High-A West standings.
