EVERETT — Where should the future Light Link Rail be routed through Everett? What should be demolished to make way for some of the line?
Sound Transit wants opinions through April 3.
The website to give feedback is everettlink.participate.online
The discussion includes where the stations and parking lots should go in the Mariner area and near Everett Station. Most require demolishing and clearing some buildings to make way for the line.
A map shows the rail station near Everett Station could be placed at the station itself, or along the east side of Broadway, or along McDougall, or somewhere in the middle of Broadway and McDougall.
The rail station near Mariner could be placed along 128th Street SW, or near the Mariner Park and Ride.
The Everett Link Extension includes 16 miles of elevated and at-grade light rail from the Lynnwood City Center Station to Everett Station.
Overall there are six new Link stations planned for the line: At West Alderwood, Ash Way, Mariner, SW Everett Industrial Center, SR 526/Evergreen and Everett Station. A seventh provisional (unfunded) station at SR 99/Airport Road will also be studied during the planning process.
The link connection through Mariner and onward to the Paine Field area could open in 2037 under Sound Transit’s proposed timeline.
The connection to Everett Station could open somewhere between 2037 and 2041.
Once complete, it would be able to bring a rider from Everett Station to Seattle downtown in one hour.
