Dale H. Deierling passed away on May 19, 2025, at the age of 95. He was born August 21, 1929, in Snohomish, Washington, to Eric A. C. and Alice F. (Hoglund) Deierling and remained a lifelong Snohomish resident. He often shared wonderful stories of his boyhood adventures, family outdoor trips and the history of his Fobes Hill neighborhood. He graduated from Snohomish High School in 1947.
Dale was very active in the community and donated many hours to numerous organizations, often serving in leadership roles. Those close to his heart were the Snohomish Lions, Sons of Norway/Normanna Park, Everett Elks, Order of Red Men, and the Snohomish Fraternal Order of Eagles. He was the last surviving founding member of the Cross Valley Water Association (later District), where he served as an elected Commissioner, and was also a founding member of the Snohomish Affordable Housing Group.
Dale was proud of his 77 year membership in the Local 562/70 Carpenters Union. The majority of his decades in the trade was with Newland Construction, where he managed many large commercial and public projects throughout Snohomish County and beyond. In retirement, he supervised numerous charitable projects including the Snohomish First Street public restrooms.
Dale relished his days at Lake Riley with family and friends, a good book, fishing derbies, language camps and time spent together. Dale was very well read and traveled throughout Europe, the Mediterranean, Egypt, Alaska, Australia, New Zealand and China.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents Eric and Alice, brother Donald, former wife and lifelong friend Nola (Schmelzer), cousins Donna (Deierling) Robinett and Walter (Larry) Deierling, and his beloved granddaughter Holly. He is survived by his children Dale (Kathryn) Deierling, Joni (Don) Siewert, Dell (Renèe) Deierling; grandchildren Alex Little, Eric Deierling, Christina Deierling; three great grandchildren and many other family members.
The family wishes to thank the dedicated caregivers Dale had at home and the adult care home where he spent his final months, along with the members of his Hospice team.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 26th, 11:00 am, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church at Swan’s Trail in Snohomish, Washington with a reception following.
