Charles Thomas Green (92) of Sultan Wa, passed away on November 14th, 2024. He was a beloved father, husband, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Tom was born on June 12th, 1932, in Jamestown, ND, to his parents Charles Green and Evelyn Schneider. He attended Ballard/Roosevelt High school and then joined the Airforce from 1951-1955. He married his sweetheart Delores (Dolly) Johnson on January 6th, 1956, in Ballard, Washington.
Tom’s motto of “work hard at the job you have and it’ll lead to the next thing,” didn’t lead him astray. His career took him to multiple fields of work; he excelled at and enjoyed them all. He worked at: Alpha Cine Labs, owned the Sportsman’s Restaurant, started and sustained a local Blueberry Farm, and ended his career as a Real Estate Agent. He was also very active in the community for many years. He served as the Pack 51 Scout Leader, School Board Member, Good Samaritan Missionary board member, Church deacon, Toastmaster, and was on the Sultan School Planning Commission.
Tom had many interests in his life; he published two children’s books, he traveled to over 47 countries, and he always had a new business idea in the works. More than anything, Tom loved Jesus and his family. Hosting the holiday dinners for anyone who could make it. He was a man who always looked at life in a positive way and took every opportunity to spend time with (and laugh with) his kids and grandkids.
Tom is survived by his wife (Dolly), 5 kids, 8 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
A service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, Dec. 7th, at Cascade Church in Monroe, Wa. (14377 Fryelands Blvd.) A reception will follow. (Private, family-only graveside service held at Sultan Cemetery.)
