EVERETT — The City of Everett recently announced the launch of a community survey as part of its efforts to become a certified Washington State Creative District.
The public at large, even those not in Everett, are asked to take a survey at www.everettwa.gov/creativedistrict
The survey asks what’s good about Everett, what’s problematic and more.
The city is thinking of setting downtown for its certified Creative District area.
“Everett is a makers city and some of the best things in the world are made here,” Mayor Cassie Franklin said in a news release. “Creativity is at the heart of who we are, and our creative economy is a powerful driver of jobs, culture and community pride. Becoming a certified Creative District will help us strengthen that identity, support our local talent and invest in a more vibrant future for Everett.”
The Washington State Creative District program is administered by ArtsWA.
Certified districts receive access to state-level marketing support, competitive grant opportunities, technical assistance and specialized signage to help raise visibility. The designation also helps cities like Everett attract new investment and stimulate small business growth.
