EVERETT — Anyone working for large companies in Everett who earn minimum wage and just above minimum wage will see a pay bump July 1.
Voters approved a city-level initiative last fall.
The new wage within Everett is $20.24 an hour for workers at large employers above 500 employees. Small businesses have up to July 2027 to increase their wages to the mandated $20.24. After 2026, the minimum is $18.29 per hour for mid-sized employers with more than 15 employees.
The wage is a flat wage. Service tips received do not count against the wage. Service tips can be considered extra on top.
An opposing measure from the hospitality association sought to balance tips in the calculations for wages.
Seattle’s minimum wage is $20.76 an hour at large companies.
The statewide minimum wage is $16.66 an hour.
