Snohomish: Garbage drop-off day set for Sunday, July 20

SNOHOMISH — The city of Snohomish will host a garbage drop-off event on Sunday, July 20, from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. at the Public Works Yard (1801 First St.) due to the ongoing Republic Services work stoppage and service delays in household garbage pick-up.
City staff will be onsite to coordinate traffic flow; however, they won’t be able to assist with unloading.
This event will be for City of Snohomish residents only – proof of residency (such as a utility bill or current ID) will be required.
City of Snohomish Republic Services customers may bring only bagged household trash. Recycling, compost, and non-household waste (appliances, scrap metal, furniture, etc.) will not be accepted.
Mayor Linda Redmon said in a news release: “With the heat, we know that the Republic Services work stoppage has inconvenienced residents and is causing health and sanitation concerns. As soon as we learned that there was a possibility of a second week without pickups, we immediately planned a drop-off option for residents to dispose of their garbage.”
“We will continue to monitor the strike status and its impacts and hope this disruption is resolved as soon as possible,” Redmon said.

Monroe's garbage drop-off day will be Saturday, July 19, from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. , at the future city hall, 806 W. Main St.
