LAKE STEVENS — One of the people in a serious head-on U.S. 2 wreck May 29 is fighting to recover, and his family has issued a GoFundMe which so far has raised more than $5,000.
Chuck Browning is a professional cook.
On May 29, east of Roosevelt Road on U.S. 2, an 18-year-old driver in a Ford Explorer towing a trailer rear-ended a Jeep Cherokee stopped for traffic on a straight stretch of eastbound U.S. 2, then went into the opposite lanes. The Explorer hit Browning’s Chevy Equinox SUV head-on.
He spent three weeks in a hospital before being moved to a rehabilitation center, organizers said.
