Everett Fourth of July events
EVERETT — There’s plenty to do this Fourth of July to celebrate freedom.
Early risers can get their morning workout with the Yankee Doodle Dash at the Everett Y, at the corner of Everett Avenue and Rockefeller Avenue. There are 10K, 5K, one mile and “Kiddy Doodle” race tracks available. Runners can register online at this link (opens in new window) or come register starting at 7 a.m. on race day. The earliest race is at 8:30 a.m. The courses will close at 10:30 a.m.
Marching bands, drill teams and stilt walkers will march down Colby Avenue and Wetmore Avenue for the city’s annual Fourth of July Parade starting at 11 a.m. Get there early as parking will be limited.
The Everett Police Department is hosting its annual open house from noon to 4 p.m. at the North Precinct, 3002 Wetmore Ave. (between Wall Street and Pacific Avenue). The Everett Fire Department and the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office will join Everett Police to host fun children’s activities and pass information along to citizens.
Pony rides, inflatables and an antique car show are all part of the Fun in the Sun Fair hosted at First Baptist Church, at Pacific and Wetmore Avenue, from noon to 3 p.m. Free cotton candy and snow cones will be available. The church address is 1616 Pacific Ave.
Comcast Arena’s community ice rink will have $4 open skate including the cost of skate rental for their Fire on Ice event from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Children can make patriotic hats at the Imagine Children’s Museum from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Members can enter starting at 10 a.m. Military members get free admission. General admission is $9.50.
That night, get ready for fireworks.
The city puts on a professional fireworks display in the Port Gardner Bay. The show starts at 10:20 p.m. and can be watched from Legion Memorial Park and Grand Avenue Park. There is no parking at the park, so it is best to take a cab or Everett Transit.
Before the fireworks, Legion Memorial Park will host a festival with activities for kids, live music and food.
The AquaSox play at 7:05 p.m. and will also have fireworks after the game. Ticket prices range from $8 to $17.
