Snohomish crime stats up this winter
SNOHOMISH - Burglaries are down, but vehicle prowls and vehicle thefts rose since the fall, according to Police Department reports.
Police Chief John Flood released his 2013 fourth quarter crime report to the City Council on Jan. 21.
Overall, the winter 2013 numbers are up from winter 2012 numbers.
In the fourth quarter of 2013, there were 20 burglaries, 32 vehicle thefts, 57 vehicle prowls, 28 malicious mischief incidents, and 86 thefts.
By comparison in fall 2013, there were 26 burglaries, 22 vehicle thefts, 30 vehicle prowls, a rash of 41 malicious mischief incidents and 86 thefts. The numbers for fall were steady from last summer’s numbers.
In comparison, in the fourth quarter of 2012, there were 36 burglaries, nine vehicle thefts, 45 vehicle prowls, 30 malicious mischief incidents and 55 thefts.
