Friday farmers market coming to Everett Mall
EVERETT - Everett Farmers Market owners Karen Erickson and Gary Purves are opening an outdoor Friday farmers market at the Everett Mall. The market will be located in the parking lot between Sears and Best Buy.
The 12-week market opens Friday, July 19 and will be open from 3 to 7 p.m. through Friday, Oct. 4.
At a recent Casino Road Stakeholders Group meeting, members praised the new market. For years, no market existed in south Everett.
The last farmers markets at the Everett Mall were a few seasonal farmers markets in the 1980s, Erickson said.
The market’s prior owners tried a Friday market near Everett Community College that fizzled.
The main Everett Farmers Market is celebrating its 20th season this year. The market on the waterfront at the Port of Everett, located at 1600 West Marine View Drive, starts Sunday, June 2. The Sunday market is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Sunday, Oct. 6.
The market includes fresh food grown in Washington, music and vendors.
More than 5,000 people attend each Sunday, Erickson said.
