July 29, 1933 - March 22, 2014
Nancy Hoffman, born July 29, 1933, passed away March 22, 2014. She died peacefully at home surrounded by family.
Nancy was born at the Snohomish Hospital and graduated from Snohomish High School. Once a Panther, always a Panther! Every year she enjoyed watching the serpentine parade as they marched by her house. She was an active member of the community, participating in Community Kitchen, The Grange, the local chapter of PEO and she was a deacon at her church.
Nancy loved to hike and hiked many of the trails in Washington (some multiple times)! She was an avid reader ever since she was a child. She never outgrew a good book. She also loved spending time out in her yard gardening. She would sit outside weeding and would strike up a conversation with anyone who walked by.
She believed in helping others and donated to many charities. Nancy donated to the Children’s Fund; last year she had three children and she would share the letters with her family. She was extremely passionate about education for women and because of this was actively involved in P.E.O. In honor of this passion the family is asking in lieu of flowers for money to be donated to https://donations.peointernational.org/peo-donation-cottey.
There will be a celebration of life at First Presbyterian on April 6 at 2 p.m. If you would like to share a memory or thoughts for the family please bring a printed copy of the story because the family will be assembling a book filled with stories about her. Nancy’s compassionate soul will be missed by all.
The family would like to thank all who wrote, brought flowers, brought meals and supported us during this time.
