Karen Jean Young
January 7, 1953 - August 19, 2013
Karen Jean Young, 60 of Snohomish, WA died suddenly on August 19, 2013. Karen was born on January 7, 1953 in Everett to Bill and Betty Young. She was the second of five children.
Karen grew up in Machias and graduated from Snohomish High School, class of 1971. Karen lived and worked around the area for most of her life focusing on customer service where she loved to interact with people. She spent several years as an airline flight attendant where she was able to continue her enjoyment of working with people and also see parts of the country she had not seen. She returned to her beloved Machias and most recently worked at Union Bank in Frontier Village as well as the Pilchuck Yacht Club where she loved to work and spend time with her many, many friends and family. In addition to being a member of the Pilchuck Yacht Club, she was also a proud long time member of the Snohomish Sauerkraut Band.
She was an extremely proud mother and grandmother and was also a wonderful daughter and sister.
She is survived by her daughter, Kelly (Derek) Judd; granddaughter, Michajla (Phillip) Walker; grandsons, Jared and Jacob Judd; father, Bill Young; siblings, Linda (George) Wells, Lori (Mark) McCulloch, Dane (Stacy) Young; Daryn (Yvonne) Young; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends that were special to her.
She will be missed more than words can ever say!
A Memorial Service was held August 24, 2013 at The Machias Community Church and was followed by a Celebration of her life at Bill Young's house "at the river."
