Steven James Soraparu, born July 13, 1940 in Chicago, IL, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2013 at his home in Snohomish, WA with his family at his side. Steve proudly served his country in the US Air Force and went on to graduate from Loyola University in Illinois. He most enjoyed traveling, spending time with his family and friends, and mentoring others to help them reach their goals and dreams. He also enjoyed organizing events with the Monroe Senior’s Center, Knights of Columbus and was very active with St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Snohomish. Steve was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Steve is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Stella, his son, Chris Soraparu (Maryann) of Dekalb, IL, his daughters, Nicole Marshall (Christopher) of North Aurora, IL, Cheri Liberato (Mike) of Lake Stevens, and Heather Soraparu of Gold Bar, and grandchildren Mikalah, Bianca, Merek, Hayden, and Dannon. A Memorial Mass celebrating Steve’s life will be held on Monday the 12th at 11am at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 1512 Pine Ave., Snohomish. Memorials in his name may be made to St. Vincent de Paul.
