Marie E. Webb, of Everett, WA, died on January 15, 2013 after a brief illness; she was 94 years young. Marie was born in The Dalles, Oregon on August 23, 1918, where she attended local schools and graduated from The Dalles High School. She moved to Washington in 1955 and lived in Kennewick and Spokane before moving to Everett in 1965.
Marie is survived by her daughter Jaci Mach (David) of Snohomish and Palm Desert, CA, grandchildren Aaron Eder (Sera) of Gresham, Oregon and Amy Evans (Jon) of Flowery Branch, Georgia, step-grandsons Jeff Mach and John Mach of Seattle, and five great-grandchildren, Jacob, Caleb, Abigail, and Vera, of Flowery Branch, Georgia and Luke of Gresham, Oregon, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Marie worked for General Telephone Company, starting in Kennewick, continuing in Spokane, and then in Everett, where she retired in 1983 after 27 years of service. Since retirement, she has been an active volunteer for Providence Hospital, American Cancer Society Thrift Shop, Providence General Children’s Association, and the Carl Gipson Senior Center. She also volunteered in many areas of First Baptist Church where she was a member. She enjoyed bridge and pinochle and belonged to several groups.
A celebration of Marie’s life will be held on Friday, January 25, 2013 at 1pm at Purdy & Walters with Cassidy Funeral Home, 1702 Pacific Ave., Everett, 425-252-2191. Memorials may be made to the Providence General Children’s Association, the Carl Gipson Senior Center, any animal rescue organization or to a charity of your choice.
