Evelyn N. Craven passed away June 4, 2011 at Regency Manor in Chelan, Wash. Evelyn was born July 2, 1925 in Buchanan, North Dakota and was the oldest of 7 children. She lived in Snohomish, Wash. until 2005 when she moved to Pateros, Wash. to be near her son, Bruce.
Evelyn is survived by her two sons, William Craven of Edmonds, Wash. and Bruce and his wife Teri Craven of Pateros. She is also survived by her two grandchildren, Bryce, 15, and Briana, 18, who were the joy of her life.
Evelyn’s love for life, family, and God were evident right up to the end of her life. Through much of her life, Evelyn enjoyed gardening, playing cards with friends, bingo, entertaining family and friends with home cooked meals and playing scrabble. Evelyn was an avid reader and loved watching old movies and documentaries. Evelyn was very fond of children and animals. She would often babysit for family and friends and loved to watch Animal Planet.
Evelyn was a great friend, patient and loving mother and grandmother. She has instilled values and faith in her family and friends and made a lasting positive impression on her children and grandchildren. She was always there to help anyone in need in any way she could, and is going to be missed by many.
A memorial for Evelyn will be held at the French Creek Manor on Sunday, July 3, at 2 p.m.
