Snohomish veteran speaks at navy base

U.S. Army veteran Lt. Col. Clyde Fields of Snohomish shakes hands with LS2 Cassandria Huff at Naval Station Everett after a Veterans Day event at the navy base on Friday, Nov. 8. Fields who served in the Army’s 398th Engineering Regiment in Europe during World War II was the guest speaker at the event along with U.S. Coast Guard veteran Master Chief Petty Officer Jake Cabuag of Bothell. The annual event is attended by veterans from throughout the Puget Sound area along with current Navy personnel from Naval Station Everett.


Council authorizes 1 percent property tax increase
SNOHOMISH - For the first time since 2009, the City Council approved a 1 percent property tax increase that will be incorporated in the 2014 budget.

SNOHOMISH - The City Council voted unanimously last week to place a moratorium on recreational marijuana businesses.
