Wakeboard park appeal decision expected by Dec. 11
MONROE - City-contracted hearing examiner Carl Cox will announce his decision by Dec. 11 on the wakeboard park appeal.
Monroe resident Diane Elliott challenged the city’s determination that a proposed cable wakeboard park at Lake Tye will have no significant adverse impacts on the environment, which means that no environmental impact statement would be required.
Cox has 10 business days after the last rebuttal was submitted by the city on Nov. 27 to make his decision; that deadline is Tuesday, Dec. 11.
The hearing was held Nov. 16 in Council Chambers and lasted more than six hours. Elliott was present, as well as two representatives for H30, the water sport company proposing the park. City attorney Zach Lell also participated in the hearing.
