Russ Leno, professional pumpkin carver, will carve a giant pumpkin weighing more than 900 pounds at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25 at the Snohomish Senior Center, 506 Fourth St., to kick off Snohomish's BrewFest. BrewFest continues Friday and Saturday, Oct. 26-27. The event features local beer samples, food, live music and activities. Tickets can be purchased at www.SnohoBrewFest.com.

The Ghosts of Snohomish Tour, hosted by Deverie Wood, will be Saturday, Oct. 27 at 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. Cost is $10. Tour meets at Natural Clothing Company, 1020 First St. On Halloween, downtown streets will be filled with trick or treaters from 3 to 5 p.m. Also on Halloween, the Marks Building, 1024 First St., will turn into a haunted house from 3 to 6 p.m. Cost is $1 or bring a nonperishable food item.

Learn about forming a block watch Tuesday, Oct. 23
SNOHOMISH - The city’s public safety commission, consisting of members from the police and fire departments, will host a block watch meeting at Fire Station 4 Training Annex, 1525 Ave. D, Tuesday, Oct. 23 from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. The meeting is to encourage and recruit block watch captains and to teach people how to start and participate in a block watch.
