Fans celebrated on the field Friday, Oct. 12 after the Monroe Bearcats defeated Arlington 29-22 in overtime to clinch the Wesco 4A North title. The 4A title is the first in the school’s history. The Bearcats (4-3, 3-0 conference) used a hard-hitting ground attack led by junior Gabe Moore who rushed for 322 of the team’s 418 total rushing yards.

Russ Leno, professional pumpkin carver, will carve a giant pumpkin weighing more than 900 pounds as part of Snohomish's BrewFest at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25 at the Snohomish Senior Center, 506 Fourth St. BrewFest is Friday and Saturday, Oct. 26-27. Learn about forming a block watch Tuesday, Oct. 23
SNOHOMISH - The city’s public safety commission, consisting of members from the police and fire departments, will host a block watch meeting at Fire Station 4 Training Annex, 1525 Ave. D, Tuesday, Oct. 23 from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. The meeting is to encourage and recruit block watch captains and to teach people how to start and participate in a block watch.


School district opposed to lowering impact fees
MONROE - The Monroe School Board announced at its Oct. 8 board meeting that it is “adamantly opposed” to a city proposal to reduce the amount collected for school impact fees.
