The Schack Art Center opened a new exhibit, “Magic of the Mask: in Traditional and Contemporary Form,” this month. Learn about the connection between cultures and societies through the use of masks, featuring masks from Africa, Mexico and North America. The exhibit runs through June 7.

Snohomish High School’s Future Farmers of America Club is selling perennials, vegetables, herbs and flower bowls through Saturday, May 19. The high school’s greenhouse is open Wednesday and Thursday, 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m., Friday, 12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The high school is located at 1316 5th St.

Each year volunteers place flowers in planters along Hewitt and Colby avenues in Everett. Nearly 40 volunteers, including Angela Stahl of Everett, spent the morning of Friday, May 4 bringing the colors of spring to downtown.
