Company can conduct in-home COVID-19 test for vulnerable adults in Snohomish County

SNOHOMISH COUNTY — A company called LetsGetChecked is working with in-home health care provider ConcertoHealth to provide its FDA EUA authorized Coronavirus (COVID-19) Sure-Track tests to at-risk individuals who, because of their age, severe medical problems, low income, or disabilities, are eligible for Medicare and/or Medicaid.
ConcertoHealth offers its home patient services as a service company. It works with clients on some forms of Medicare (Fee For Service, Medicare Advantage) and some forms of Medicare/Medicaid (Dual-Special Needs Plan, DSNP).
It also has an arrangement with the Snohomish Health District to test adult family home residents.
“We have developed a partnership to ensure that we are able to quickly test all residents/owners/caregivers of Adult Family Homes (congregate settings) in the case that there is a positive case identified,” Dr. Chris Dodd, chief clinical officer of ConcertoHealth, told the Tribune.
“The partnership with LetsGetChecked will allow the ConcertoHealth team to collect swab samples from patients’ nasal cavity and send them to a laboratory for complete RT PCR assay that is 100% sensitive and specific to the presence of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, which means if the swab sample contains the Coronavirus, it will be detected,” a joint news release from the two companies states.
Washington state requires people who appear to have COVID-19 symptoms to isolate at home until they can be checked and receive a negative test result.
The state’s coronavirus help hotline is 1-800-525-0127. It is staffed 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Symptoms include a cough, a fever, or trouble breathing. Other suggested symptoms include a loss of taste or smell. Some people have gastrointestinal upset.
Call your medical provider first to assess your situation before going to a medical office. Do not call 911 unless you have an emergency.
