A Night of Christmas Jingles Dec. 2 SNOHOMISH - The 10th annual Night of Christmas Jingles will be held Sunday, Dec. 2 at 6 p.m. at Hidden Meadows, 11805 Springhetti Rd. in Snohomish. This is a free, fun event for everyone. Non-perishable food for the Snohomish Community Food Bank and unwrapped toys for the Snohomish Boys and Girls Club will be collected this evening. April VanAssche started A Night of Christmas Jingles 10 years ago as a way to bring the community together in an old fashioned kind of way. April has lived in Snohomish her whole life; five generations deep of mostly dairy farmers on both sides of her family. “I love tradition and anything that gets people to come together and spend quality time together, especially during Christmas,” said April. April encourages everyone to lave their stress behind and come enjoy an evening with family and friends. A Night of Jingles will surely remind you of what Christmas is really all about. The night will include talent from all of the surrounding communities; Snohomish, Monroe, Lake Stevens, Everett and Marysville. You will enjoy ages from age three to adult singing, acting, performing, etc. Each year is different, giving performers a change to entertain. One of the biggest treats is a visit from Santa! He some how makes it each year to visit and give away candy canes. The night is ended wit cookies, desserts and beverages. This year a local photographer will be there to take family pictures, photo booth style, and will donate half of the money to a special family in need. There are a lot of volunteers and local businesses that donate to make this night possible. “Snohomish Kiwanis is a big contributor, my family and friends make and donate the desserts, Starbucks donates the coffee and tea, Key Clubs from both Snohomish High School and Glacier Peak High School help, Hidden Meadows donated the facility and the performers, band, sound system, etc. are all donated,” said April. “I have a passion for my community,” said April. “This night is just a simple way I can give back to a place that has given me and my family so much. To know that we collect so many cans and nonperishable food items for the food bank at a time they need it so badly, as well as toys for kids in our area that would otherwise get nothing – that is what Christmas is all about!” For more information e-mail vanassche.april@gmail.com.
