Snohomish Farmers Market opens Thursday, May 3
SNOHOMISH - The Snohomish Farmers Market opens Thursday, May 3 downtown and will be open every Thursday through Oct. 11.
The 21-year-old market is located off First Street halfway up Cedar Avenue near the Carnegie Library. The market may gradually move up toward Rainier Street when construction begins at the Carnegie Library parking lot in the summer.
The market will continue Music at the Market and its chef demonstrations in addition to offering a variety of vendors selling fresh produce, specialty products, crafts, packaged foods, ready-to-eat meals and more.
Parking is available on any street surrounding the market.
Last week, market manager Karen Erickson was posting signs for the market. The market will emphasize some kind of main attraction every week. Although chef demonstrations won't be offered at Le Gourmet this year.
The market runs from the afternoon until the early evening, with the hours changing with the seasons.
In the spring (May 3 to June 21), the market is open 3 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.; summer (June 28 to Aug. 23) 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. and fall (Aug. 30 to Oct. 11) 3 p.m. until dusk.
The market still has some commemorative bags left from last year’s 20th anniversary special edition. They’re made in the United States and help keep plastics bags out of the landfills. They’re available at the market for $5 each, or two for $8.
