Snohomish Wine Festival is March 10
SNOHOMISH - The third annual Snohomish Wine Festival is moving to Wine Cellars of Washington on Second Street this year.
The event runs 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, March 10 at Wine Cellars, 1011 Second St.
Wine Cellars features a unique wine-tasting experience and event venue, with up to 25 wineries in one location year-round.
The city and the Snohomish Chamber of Commerce collaborated to create the wine festival in 2010 to promote wineries located in the Snohomish area and to feature Washington wines, chamber manager Pam Osborne said.
The $30 admission to the festival goes toward chamber special events such as GroundFrog Day and the Easter Parade.
More than 200 people came last year, Osborne said.
This year, “we’re planning for 250-plus, and this is a little different because we’ve not had an evening festival before,” Osborne said.
She said she’s interested to see if that will make it a different crowd this year.
The event stays hyperlocal this year with wineries from Snohomish, Lake Stevens, Monroe and Marysville.
Appetizers are included with the admission, and guests also will receive a complimentary wine glass and several wine tastings. Attendees are encouraged to purchase whichever wines they like, Osborne said.
Background music by acoustic duo “Plan B” will fill the air while guests mill around the cozy Wine Cellars venue, which Osborne said is “very conducive to sipping wine and enjoying friends.”
Visit www.snohomishwinefestival.com to buy tickets, find lodging or learn about the (so far 19) participating wineries. Must be 21 to attend.
